Disability benefits from the Social Security Administration are a right to which all qualifying Americans are entitled. They are not a handout or charity, but rather a benefit supported by the taxes paid by workers. As social security disability benefits lawyers for Wise and those in the surrounding towns and communities, we help clients in both the initial application process and in the appeals process (if a claim is initially rejected).
If you or a family member is disabled and seeking Social Security Benefits, we encourage you to call our office for a free consultation, and to get answered any questions that you may have.
How Much Do Our Services Cost?
We accept disability benefit claims on a 25% contingency basis based on the past amount due (there is no payment due to us for future benefits that are payable). Additionally, there is no fee due to us if we are not successful in recovering compensation.
Under applicable social security rules, except in certain conditions, our maximum fee is capped at $6,000. If we are successful, our fee is generally paid directly to our firm by the Social Security Administration; clients are responsible for expenses associated with their matter (such as the any costs to obtain medical records).
Prior to undertaking an engagement, these and other matters are set forth in our engagement agreement, which governs our services.
How We Help – Preparing the Initial Application
Many times the initial appeal for social security benefits is denied. The claims form and requirements can be confusing, and many applicants incorrectly assume that just because they are clearly disabled, their claim will be quickly processed and benefits will be quickly awarded. Often this is not the case.
While a person may, in fact, be disabled, the supporting documents submitted to the Social Security Administration often fail to meet the requirements of such agency. When this happens needless delays can arise. As social security lawyers for disability benefits, we help clients in the application process not only through seeking to carefully complete the application, but also with gathering all of the required medical information from treating physicians. Our objective is to get a claim approved, if possible, in the first submission, as doing so will help get benefits flowing to clients as soon as possible.
Helping Clients in the Appeals Process
We are also here to help those who may have submitted a claim for benefits on their own, but who were denied benefits. In these cases, we typically represent clients in administrative appeals, where the key matter in dispute usually concerns proving disability through medical records and evidence.
