Named in honor of George Wythe, a well-respected Virginia attorney, professor, and signer of the Declaration of Independence, Wytheville is not only a historically significant town, but it also boasts a stunning landscape, which includes magnificent mountains, brilliant waters, and rolling hills.[1] Each year, an abundance of visitors and residents immerse themselves in the local culture and enjoy many of the city’s outdoor attractions, including the Big Walker Mountain National Forest Scenic Byway, the Toland’s Raid Civil War Trail, the Fort Chiswell Animal Park, and the Beagle Ridge Herb Farm, among others.
As a Wytheville lawyer, firm founder and principal attorney Mark Hurt is proud to serve the local and surrounding communities when legal services are necessary. From injuries caused by the negligence of others and worker’s compensation claims to traffic tickets and Social Security Disability, The Law Offices of Mark T. Hurt is here to help.
Once we know about your matter, we can answer your questions, explain your options, and, if we are retained, we will work diligently in seeking to obtain for you the best possible outcome for your matter.
We offer affordable fixed-fee representation for traffic, speeding, and reckless driving tickets, so that you’ll know at the outset exactly how much our fees will be for your case. A fixed fee applies even if your case goes to trial.
For convenience, we also accept credit card payments. If you have received a traffic or reckless driving ticket, we would urge you to contact our office to learn how we can help you in seeking a better outcome than pleading guilty.
We accept personal injury, workers’ compensation, and social security disability cases on a contingency fee basis (no fee unless compensation is recovered). Additionally, for personal injury matters, we advance all litigation costs and expenses while a case is ongoing so that injured victims can put their energy and resources towards regaining their health (these expenses are typically repaid out of settlements or jury awards).
For social security disability and worker’s compensation cases, our fee is set by law. For instance, for workers’ compensation representation, our fee in most cases is equal to 25% of the back pay (the payment that is due at the time an award is approved) up to a maximum of approximately $6,000. (There is no fee for future social security disability payments that do not become due until after the initial award is made).
Contingency fee representation thus allows anyone – even those with modest means – to retain an experienced, dedicated lawyer for their case without any risk of having to pay legal fees out of their pocket if their case is not successful.

(276) 623-1070“I got Mark to represent me for a traffic violation. Mark got my ticket removed so all I had to do was go to driving school. Driving school wasn’t fun, but even after the cost of hiring Mark and driving school I still saved hundreds of dollars between court fees and increased insurance rates. Hiring an attorney will benefit you and Mark is a top notch attorney and won’t charge you an arm and a leg like other attorneys.”
