A devastating explosion occurred Friday, October 10, 2025, at the Accurate Energetic Systems (AES) facility in Hickman County, Tennessee, resulting in multiple confirmed deaths and several individuals still missing. Emergency responders and state agencies, including TEMA and the TBI, remain on scene as recovery and investigation efforts continue.
This marks the second major explosion at the AES site in just over a decade. A similar incident in 2014 left one worker dead and several others seriously injured. Subsequent investigations uncovered serious safety citations and fines. These repeated tragedies raise concerns about whether more could have been done to prevent another disaster.
